Why I Believe Game players are MAD
Did you believe game playing should be utterly discouraged? You can’t find any positives from the game playing other than pure time-wasting.
Well, do not panic, because today, I will be showing you what game playing has done to change the world for the better.
So let’s say you woke up one morning, picked your smartphone, and made your way to open up the game app, probably to refresh yourself or keep you high for the morning tasks.
But on getting to the app, you decided to have a change of heart. This is probably time-wasting. Wait a minute, in this blog post I am going to reveal how awesome and huge differences game players have made
Imagine a world where everyone becomes a gamer. Do you play games? Imagine a planet where everyone used their capacities to play games everywhere they go.
Imagine settling down in public transport next to an octogenarian and she pulls out her phone to resume the game she was playing.
All game players could use the innate fun and happiness derived from playing games and become more social, and more creative. All these make a gamer a difference-maker.
We game players are all MAD, we keep Making A Difference.

How do you explain this of Trevor Noah a renowned South African who runs The Daily Show in The USA? He was interviewed on his cannot-do-without while traveling by GQ.
He listed many cool important gadgets, like electric toothbrush, air-pods cool spy eyeglass, etc
The famous author of the book Born a crime, listed something less unusual to abnormal people but usual to normal people like us. Something very great because you would agree that not all of what he has listed is as important as his game console.
I mean he travels a lot, to keep as relaxed and high as possible, what else does he need other than playing lots of games.
Trent Alexander Arnold, Raheem Sterling, Kings, Queens top businessmen, I can keep the list on and on who is out there doing the MAD thing
Making-A-difference means impacting positively in people’s lives.
Moving yourself, the people in your community from a good position to a better position.
It could be through comedy or books like Trevor or sport or showing astute and professionalism in your work to motivate others that they can be better too like the case of Trent and Sterling.
On a larger scale, how mad are gamers trying to MAD. Here are the top three games that are saving people’s lives. Yu kai-Cho gave these examples in a TedX speech.
– Pain squad:
This app commits cancer patients to play games. It is actually a tough and lonely life of pains and agony for cancer patients. This game allows the patient to keep a pain journal.
In this way, doctors would be able to see and create pain profiles and compare them with others to know what treatment to apply and how best to apply them.
In doing so, they were also able to save other peoples lives while having fun on their bed
– FoldIt:
This is actually my favourite. The game encourages creativity in problem-solving. It solved a problem Ph.D. holders have been trying to solve in almost fifteen years in just ten days.
Scientists have been trying to figure out how to perfectly arrange a virus protein structure. So, they decided to make a game off it named FoldIt. Magically, in ten days gamers were able to figure out how to arrange it perfectly.
Imagine if gamers can perform this miracle overnight, what else can’t we do?
– Opower:
This is another astonishing app that is not saving lives directly but is saving money and other resources. It is an app that encourages people to lower their utility bills.
The game creators thought the best way to go about lowering utility consumption is to publish for you to see how people in your neighbourhood are fairing. It shows who your best neighbour is and your below-average neighbours.
What the app does is to make you strive to be a better neighbour. In that way, each household has to compete in beating their utility consumption to the best neighbour consequently reducing the utility bill.

It was found that over two hundred and fifty million bills were saved within a year. How more MAD could that be?
