Gamify Your New Year’s Resolutions
Ah, New Year’s resolutions! That time of year when we pledge to read more books, start a podcast, launch a YouTube channel, work on personal development, and quit those pesky habits (looking at you, late-night snacking).
My grand ideas only fully materialized after a fateful encounter with my mentor, Emdee Tiamiyu, who hosted a session on smashing goals.
He created this exclusive group called the Goal Smashing Community—like a support group, but for crushing our ambitions despite life’s curveballs.

After some personal banter, Emdee, the wizard of wisdom, suggested I pick between becoming ambidextrous or learning a new language.
Ambidextrous? As if my left hand has been waiting for its chance in the spotlight. But a new language seemed more practical, less likely to end in a hilarious ink blotch on every paper I touch.
Gamification in the heart in new year
Now, onto the fun stuff! Remember the time when I toyed around with gamification? Yep, I’ve been a die-hard advocate ever since.
I even birthed livegamefully.com to explore how games infiltrate our lives.
Content like Why I Believe Game players are MAD and HOW TO MAKE YOUR EMPLOYEES SAY WTF TO YOU AFTER WORK would help you see into my mind.
Fast forward three years, and here I am, cracking German phrases with Duolingo like a linguistic ninja.
Either Duolingo is a genius or I’ve unlocked some secret skill for sticking to resolutions (betting against myself seems unwise).
You can make all the New Year’s Resolutions but if you do not chart a course towards achieving it, you’ll loose interest half way.
This year’s resolutions would be going harder on some goals and becoming more consistent here.

On my book
Emdee was a rockstar throughout, even helping me brainstorm titles for my gamification book.
The struggle was real—I mean, how do you sum up gamification’s coolness in just a few words? “You Better Watch Out” seemed fittingly enigmatic.
In my upcoming book, I’ve meticulously outlined practical steps for teenagers and young adults to break free from game addiction and embrace life with the strategic finesse of a seasoned gamer—without the luxury of a respawn button (YOLO).

Vielen Danke for joining me on this crazy, game-changing journey!
I am just a DM away if you want to know more about the book, partnership or just curious about the whole concept of gamification.
